P0862 BMW Fault Code

Description:

The input turbine speed sensor detects rotation of the input shaft of the input shaft speed sensor transmission. The computer uses that information, along with the output shaft speed sensor to determine if the transmission is operating according to plan. If the computer detects a difference between the input shaft speed , and the expected output shaft speed, it will adjust transmission pump pressure to prevent clutch disc slip. If adding pressure doesn't solve the problem, it will set a trouble code.

P0862 Code Symptoms :

The scent may P0862 signal oil or coolant leaking from their normally closed-loop systems, or it may indicate dangerous exhaust gases invading your car's interior. Diagnosis And Repairing P0862

P0862 the main thing to check is to verify the operation of the VCT solenoid. You're looking for a sticking or stuck VCt solenoid valve caused by contamination. Refer to vehicle specific repair manual to perform component tests for the VCT unit.

How to fix P0862 code ?

• Damaged VCT phaser
• Air fuel ratio (A/F) Sensor 1 Bank 1 harness is open or shorted
• Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve circuit poor electrical connection
• Fuel injectors harness is open or shorted
